Ministries at Joy!
Getting connected at Joy! is all about getting below the surface. While attending services on Sundays is a great way to start your connection at Joy!, deep relationships develop through time and consistent connection with others. Here are some great ways to begin the process of building warm relationships at Joy!
Starting Point Class: This is a great class to get an intro on church, what it means to be engaged in a church community and getting a flyover of what it looks like to be a member at Joy!
Engage: This is a special class to help you find and clarify how God wired you and to explore different possibilities of good places to serve that fit your strengths. This is a great way to discover the giftings God has given you!
Small Groups: These are small groups of people that get together to study a topic (parenting, marriage, dating), book of the bible, or read a Christian book together. Kind of like your average book club, it's a place of friendship and discussion based on spiritual themes.

We love our seedlings here at Joy! and working with Kids Adventure Klub is one of the favorite places to serve around here. They have a blast. We know how precious these years are, and want to come beside parents to help build good biblical foundations for their kids to lean on for life.
Nursery: We provide a fully staffed nursery for kids (birth to age 3) all year round at all services. They can play and do activities while mom or dad get a chance to relax and take in service.
Kid's Adventure Klub is for pre-K to fifth grade. Kids start in service with their parents for worship and then go up front to hear the children's message. After that, they head to their rooms where they explore a bible story, get a memory verse and do an activity to help tie everything together. Led by our loving, safe volunteers the kids have a blast and always get a take-home sheet to continue the learning in the home!

Lots of growth and upheaval happens in the pre-teen and teen years. We strive to give kids a safe spot to make their faith their own, explore the big questions, learn to read the bible, share their faith and serve others. We also have a bunch of fun being with each other! We make it easy for new kids to slide right in, making sure that they connect to others through get-to-know-you games before heading into a time of worship and teaching. We end our night with small groups, where discussion is facilitated by our warm and awesome leaders who make sure that each kid gets a chance to share their thoughts and talk about their week.
Against the Flow (usually called AtF) is our high school ministry. We've got a great bunch of friendly kids who have a blast doing whatever, whether its playing ridiculous games (Grog comes to mind), (you could hyperlink the website for Grog...http://www.jubed.com/youth_ministry/view/Grog/) making s'mores at our bonfires, heading downtown to work in a soup kitchen or engaging in worship. We'd love to have you come to an AtF, or keep an eye on our calendar for a serving opportunity or fun event to check out! Click here for more info http://www.joystudentmin.com/high-school.html
Crossroads is our middle school ministry. We always provide an easy "in" for middle schoolers through goofy games or easy ways to get to know other kids (we've done "speed friending," team paper airplane wars, and tournaments of Spoons). Warm and welcoming, this is a great group to make friends with, and by the end of the night they'll have had a blast, heard a lesson, and joined up with a small group to discuss this week's topic and check in about their week. Peek at our calendar to see all the fun happenings coming up!
