What has the Joy! Community been called to do?
Joy! Lutheran Church has always been about changed lives. Our mission statement says it well: “Our mission is to be a joy-filled, Christ-centered community that is passionate about reaching our neighbor with Christ’s radical love so that all our lives are changed.
Where have we been?
In April of 1995, 140 people signed the Joy! charter. By the time the congregation was officially incorporated on May 5, 1996, we had grown to 285 partners with a mission to be an inviting community where faith and love would be nurtured and people sent . . .

Where are we now?
Becoming a healthy community has been our focus the past few years. We needed to clarify our identity, our mission and our focus. We’ve done that. Working teams have taken on three big initiatives around spiritual formation, welcome and hospitality, and facilities. Gifted and passionate Joy! people have put their heart

What is next?
We now stand looking toward the future with hope. We are poised to grow deeper and reach farther…to fulfill the mission God has given us and to live toward the dreams of all who have been a part of the Joy! experience.
So with boldness we are moving forward. With God’s help, we have the opportunity to set the course for the future. We have the opportunity to remove the things that constrain us, to address the needs of a new generation, foster a dynamic Christian community and continue to make disciples of Jesus sent . . .

Once the prophet Isaiah had these encouraging words to say to God’s people about what was ahead: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way…” (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)
The leaders of Joy! have affirmed that God is doing something new and exciting and invite you to “perceive” it. What an awesome opportunity we have… “So That Lives Are Changed!”
