Bible Focus: God’s Image of Joy!’s Facilities
In a previous comment, Laura Kline offered some scripture that provides a beautiful view of us as building stones of His Church.
“God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.”
Ephesians 2:20-22 (The Message)
How is God using you as a brick in his church? What can you do to build a temple in which God is at home?

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of thinking, “Oh, I’m just one person…how can I possibly make a difference in the grand scheme of things?” A lot of that trap has to do with thinking that one person can’t possibly fix the problems of this world or bring everyone to Christ. Guess what? One person can’t!
I think that’s why God gives each of us different talents, abilities, and passions. Because together we all make up one beautiful body of Christ and together we can all make a huge difference! We’re not called to solve all those problems ourselves, and so we each have a part to play. I try to follow the passions and use the resources that God has given me in making whatever difference I can, and I leave the stuff that’s way outside my limitations up to those whom God has gifted and called.
One brick doesn’t make a wall, but you sure notice a brick when it’s missing from that wall. And thanks, Jesus, for being the cornerstone of that wall!
