Hey there, it's Pastor Mark checking in! As the Youth Director, we're on a mission to build a solid faith foundation for our youth for the times they need it most. With the support of six awesome youth leaders, and the Spirit guiding us, things are happening! We get that for young folks, a strong faith grows when they've got good friendships. So, every week, we're creating a space where friendships and faith can deepen.
Check out the pics – our Youth Ministry is all about faith, fun, friends, and food. Whether it's pasta-making or cereal night, we always kick off with some grub. We've learned from history – sharing meals brings people together. And the message is clear – friends are always welcome. Numbers don't lie – more students, even those not part of Joy, are joining us.
In Middle School, we've got 7-10 kids showing up each week, and 33% are friends of Joy! students. High School's holding steady with 4-6 students weekly, and they're bringing friends and, in some cases, girlfriends. Hey, everyone is welcome! We traveled to Indianapolis for a
summer mission trip in July with Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Our students represented Joy! very well. I was and am so proud of them.
Looking ahead to 2024, we're shaking things up – more social and creative learning opportunities for our youth. And about that new youth director? I'm sticking around through 2024 as the acting Youth Director. Council invited me to stay in this role and I joyfully accepted.
I am excited for the chance to foster faith in our students. Join us for the ride – it's all about faith, friends, fun, and food!
