Generosity

True generosity is giving of yourself for the sake of others.
God calls us to give everything we have to the glory of God
and to specifically give of our possessions and ourselves as
we participate in God’s mission on earth.

Opportunities to Grow
  • Give thanks to God for what you already have
  • Share forgiveness with someone you are in conflict with
  • Take a Spiritual Gifts Assessment to understand your unique gifts
  • Practice random acts of kindness
  • Volunteer in the area of your passion
  • Sign up for Financial Peace University
  • Give your undivided attention to a loved one
  • Offer a compliment to someone you don’t know well
  • Donate food to your local food pantry
  • Print photos and send them to the people in them
  • Enroll in Simply Giving for your regular Joy! offering
  • Spend time with someone who is lonely
  • Intentionally decide to live with less
  • Save your spare change and donate to an organization or cause
  • Babysit for parents with young ones so they can enjoy a date night
  • Ask someone how you can specifically pray for him or her
  • Give away some of your household treasures
Remember This
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap
sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap
generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided
in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for
God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:6-7

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard
work we must help the weak, remembering the words the
Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to
receive.  Acts 20:35
