Worship
Worship is any act, corporate or private, that intentionally honors God
in some meaningful way. We gather corporately each week to praise
God in song, scripture, prayer, teaching, and sacraments. By purposely
following Jesus’ teachings and examples in our everyday lives, we honor
God in our hearts. By doing so, we are more in tune with the Holy Spirit
and can live with confidence and joy. Worship is a daily activity; it is
not simply a service we attend on Sunday mornings.

Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Psalm 96:1-6 (ESV) Is there a right way to worship? When a woman asked Jesus about different ways of worshiping, Jesus replied, "A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth" (John 4:23, NIV). |
